Friday Update: Nine Five Twenty-five...

As you read this, I will be packing the car for a weekend's adventure in England, heading south east towards Bath. Join me, at least in thought, as I make the journey from North Wales, car loaded with layouts and my hopes and dreams for the book launch tomorrow...

This week has been a funny one, cut short at both ends work on commissions has suffered. Some design work, some invoices and some finishing touches... big news is the Ruston 44/48 (above) are now finished and I'll be taking each in turn over the coming weeks to share the details of the individual builds.

On Beaverbrook the trio of new cement hoppers is being slowly worked over and transformed - I'm hoping to have these complete for Rail-ex and the visit with Paul to exhibit Maple River. Here, the first is finished, a GTW car that has been faded, weathered and dirtied up - hopefully adding a sense of believability and consistency with others in the 'collection'.

I did take the chance to ride 47449 again on Monday - I rode from the village to Corwen and back. Whilst the load is not challenging for the type 4 the valley is beautiful at this time of year, sadly grey and overcast, cold too... this week marked the first of 'Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday' mid week DMU service and the Wickham has returned - a real tribute to the hard work of the DMU group here, she looks wonderful but isnt' my cup of tea really. I prefer the 108 and 127, but the 104 is the favourite - its sound AND its colour, I'm sure no surprise...

If you are visiting tomorrow I look forward to meeting you. I will be enjoying a lazy Sunday with Simon discussing future projects then heading back on Monday via Modelu head quarters. Whatever your plans, have a relaxing and rewarding weekend. Until next time, more soon...
