Ribbons update…

It was barely a few months ago that I began work on Ribbons in the wake of the third Compendium…

Enthused and inspired to create something beyond my voice, yet with the same heart, Ribbons isn’t about model railways, it is model railways…

Within its pages you will find heartfelt pieces about why people ‘do’ this hobby. Entertaining reading too, and profusely illustrated with large enticing photographs; it is quite unlike anything else I’ve seen in the hobby print market.

You will find a trio of advertising within the covers which have helped keep the price down a little, and I’m looking into UK print options and distribution… this is becoming very real. To remind you, the details:

Ribbons: a compendium of creative railway modelling
£10 including UK postage, 40 pages of content, small but not limited print run.
Inside you will find articles by Oly Turner from OTCM, Matthieu Lachance of Hedley Junction, artist Tim Ellis, poet and writer Jonathan Davidson as well as pieces by fellow modellers Matt Owen, Ian Longden, Roger Swan and David Murray - oh and me too!

How can you help?
  • If you fancy a copy and haven’t let me know you can sign up for more information. I will then be in touch when you’re able to buy a copy (if you've contacted me already, and I have your email, I've manually signed you up!).
  • Tell your friends! Spread the news that something you fancy, and they might too, is coming soon.
  • If you run a shop or business and would like to take a number of copies at a trade pricing, again, contact me on the contact form.
  • Whilst this issue is ‘done’ I’d love to hear from anyone keen to contribute to any future issue.
It has been a bit of a whirlwind, and I’m not sure whether this little project will make much impact in the wider hobby, but I appreciate the encouragement and support of you all. Thank you for stopping by, reading my blog every day, watching my videos, commenting on here and YouTube, engaging on social media and continuing to keep the lights on with your generous commission work. Thank you. Until next time, more soon…

  1. Hi James

Congratulations on getting this project so far and what seems so quickly. Well done.
Looking forward to seeing this in reality
I am sure I signed up for this but if not can I do that now. And let me know when you need payment.

    Best regards
    Alan

    1. Yes you're on the list. At present it looks as if it will be a 'retail' purchase with me paying for the print run in advance - so no money until I'm ready to ship...

    1. The design is crisp and modern, but with a serif font on the written text to make it kinder on the eye… hopefully people will like it.
