Commission: Bagnall DL2 in OO…

It is always rather lovely to revisit an old project. I designed this model for a customer a year or so ago, assembled his prototype, and later with his kind permission offered a short run of kits. This model then, is built now from parts I produced in that batch…

Anyone who has built on my kits will recognise the combination of etch and 3D print - this time fitted to a Bachmann Class 03 chassis. Sprinkled with handrails and some other details the model is finished in a semi-fictional National Coal Board blue with wasp striped beams.

Weathered to represent a hard working but mechanically sound locomotive in my usual manner, I notice, above, I need to touch in the crankpins, worn from handling and running in.

This project has me wondering once more about another kit - I’ve wanted to do something on the Hornby 0-6-0 Sentinel chassis for some time, perhaps this is just the encouragement I need. If you have a kit in the drawer, and would like me to assemble it and bring it to life for you, get in touch for an no obligation fixed price proposal, until next time though, more soon…
