Down on Beaverbrook: Cornetto…

The track down on Beaverbrook has seen better days, but HMLX continue to serve two customers on this once busy spur. 8704 carefully picks its way across Beaverbrook itself to collect a couple of cars from Atlantic Transload. How much longer does this plucky MLW survivor have?

Just four? What about just one? Not Cornetto - but locomotive, the purest distillation of a layouts essence into just one item of motive power…
8704 is Beaverbrook.

One is tough… It gets out of hand so fast.
It does beautifully cut through all tangents. 8704 could be itself that beating heart.

It has been some time, some might say too long (others perhaps not long enough (!)) that Chris and I co-created some content. He continues to write on Prince Street and we talk most days. These models, these are connections and touch points in our story. This is a wonderful hobby and I love how it can weave through our lives, whoever and wherever we are in the world. Until next time, more soon…

  1. Hi James

Great modelling and a Very evocative photo even without the Alco smoke. I can feel ground moving, the "bag of nails" rumbling from the prime mover and the track creaking as she heads down the spur. The brakeman riding the porch brings it all to life

    Best regards
    Alan
