16mm visitor to the Dyfrdwy Tramway...
My childhood friend Tim visited this evening, it's been several months since we last met up and spent a great evening chatting all things trains, from memories of our childhood OO layouts to current projects...
One of those is this lovely 16mm scale small Quarry Hunslet, Tim has built from a very early PDF models kit. It's been a labour of love he says to remove the print lines add the rivet detail but it's a lovely model, with some great detailing (with more to be added apparently) topped off by one of Tim's subtle but well observed weathering jobs.

It's a noisy runner with brass gear and steel worm drive on the rear axle, and Peter Spoerer RC, but Tim has always wanted a model of one of these engines since we were little so he was happy to work with these limitations to achieve that life long aim.
Here she is posed on the 7/8ths scale Dyfrdwy Tramway, luckily not all the scenery has clues to this, and it looks very much at home on the (slightly overgrown) tracks just begging for a short train of slate wagons which I believe are already in hand...
Great to catch up and always an inspiration - lots of renewed enthusiasm for all things narrow gauge or GWR. More soon...
