Friday update: Thirteen nine nineteen...

I've been busy on a real variety of work this week, and with ExpoNG approaching fast there has been more behind the scenes Narrow Planet effort on re-stocking older kits and preparing new releases...
Last week the dog chewed through my airbrush hose so this week a new one arrived which has meant I could push on with a few small painting jobs to try out the new airbrush I picked up at the same time, but the most exciting work this week was further progress on the Narrow Planet standard gauge kit we're hoping to release this autumn. More on that shortly...
The new 009 layout, East Works has progressed well, the track is now all painted, ballasted and tested, pleased to say it all seems to be working ok. The LED strip lighting has arrived so I can make a pelmet next, and then need to work on the fiddleyard area as well as progressing the scenery which is the next thing on the main layout - a ground cover of Woodland Scenics fine and coarse turf as a foundation to the static grass.
The Planet diesel project has progressed to instructions, this is our first standard gauge kit, but follows the same Narrow Planet / James Hilton style of etched overlays around a 3D printed core. The beauty of using the software to confirm the construction means I can use it to illustrate steps in the instructions - I hope that when it's released it's clear how to fit it all together!
Another large order from Shapeways arrived this week with a real mix of customer work and kits - included was this 009 version of my 'Mini-Resita' which fits on the Minitrains Brigadelok chassis. This will have etched windows and roof, the rest will be added from wire etc, it will probably move forwards later in the year though, as other projects need to take priority. The C50 pictured here is now green (as is my old NS2 actually - ready for East Works use) and moving towards completion, which is necessary to illustrate the instructions, as the kit will be released at ExpoNG.
Finally more Hudson Hunslet's in construction, another 3 chassis underway, with bodywork structures cleaned up and gluing on my workbench as I type. These final 3 models will be the last of the batch for 2019, if you're interested in one then I am taking reservations for a further batch next year. If anything here is of interest to you, designing you a custom model or assembling a kit, weathering or refinishing an existing model, or working on a layout or structure, then get in touch. More soon...
