Planet Industrials: Pensnett Barclay...

The Hattons Andrew Barclay industrial is a lovely model, and the Planet Industrials cabs I've designed have done very well indeed, more so than we ever imagined. It's encouraged me to look at another option, this time aimed at 16" cylinder examples, although obviously also able to be fitted to the other 14" model...
The Earl of Dudley's estate had a railway, described as the Pensnett Railway, that served industrial concerns around Brierley Hill near Dudley, anyone interested in the line would do well to get a copy of the Ned Williams book 'The Earl of Dudley's Railway' still available today, or the much earlier 'A History of the Pensnett Railway' by W.K.V Gale. The line later standardised on Barclay products, and the pair of 16" models were the last two 0-4-0s ordered by the system, Lady Morvyth being one of the last pair in service.
The kit will consist of the usual resin 3D printed cab, that takes handrails and brake stand from the Hattons donor model - although this example will also have a full etched roof overlay. The prototype shown here lacks that detail, I'll take some more photos once it's arrived and fitted. I will be finishing this prototype model as Lady Morvyth with full lining, a task that will be made easier by designing it and having it printed in panels specifically for the model. I hope the kit will be available later in the year, alongside a myriad of other offerings all held up by the supply of etched components during the C-19 shutdown. More soon...
