Compendium 3 - last call...
All good things come to an end. More, most good things come in threes, so not only is this the last call for orders of Compendium 3, it is last call for orders for the 'zine itself...
This issue was compiled largely from material over the winter and early spring. The short cold days have a certain impact on my mindset reflected within its pages - looking back, it has been a tough winter. I have tried to balance these heart felt, personally reflective pieces with those that share my passion, my joy for the model and prototype. I hope you will find and enjoy, wrapped up in perfect bound card covers, 40 art paper pages of thought provoking material that feels worth printing.
£15 including UK delivery, signed and numbered by myself.
Print run limited to a maximum of 60 copies.

What next?
That can wait for a future post, but I would like to produce a magazine, the sort of thing I would enjoy reading... something more artful than MRJ, but more in-depth than Model Railway Companion. An occasional, perhaps 40-60 pages... various contributors, writing worth reading, no step by step but perhaps a touch of prototype, a touch of design, a touch of technique alongside the usual. Fancy getting involved or contributing? You know where I am... but until then, more soon...
Support my work
I love writing and creating material for the blog. If you enjoy what you read and engage with I would be appreciative of any donation, large or small, to help me keep it advert and restriction free. Alternatively, feel free to buy me a coffee.
Count me in James please.

DeleteSomething like Iain Rices' MORILL at its best? It is a difficult niche. Didn't tere used to be a great American one?
ReplyDeleteIf occasional rather than a fixed publication deadline I think it might be easier to maintain content… but then perhaps at the cost of momentum. I don’t want to do it forever but happy to start something to pass on…
DeleteHi James
ReplyDeleteI would like a copy too when available.
Let me know when you want payment.
Hope you are having a good weekend
Best Regards
Alan

DeleteHi James, your new idea sounds good. I'm certainly not expert enough a modeller to contribute, although I do a good job of proofreading if that is ever of any help. Best, Jonathan
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan! I will keep you in mind - I’ve got someone on board who has helped with the last book, but we may need more help!
DeleteI thought you would as the Compendiums always read well. Let me know if there is anything else, but I’m happy just subscribing.
DeleteHi Again James
ReplyDeleteShould properly read your blog
I think a ,say, quarterly magazine would work and would be happy to support it in anyway you might find useful
Best regards
Alan
