Florida sun...

I struck lucky with this one, I'm not sure whether it was the warmth of the late summer sun or the phase of the moon, perhaps the stars were in alignment or maybe it was just the roll of the dice...

The EMD 567 thrumming on idle...

The old warehouse spur here isn't switched very often. I drive past the tracks every day on my way home from work, and have never seen a locomotive. From time to time a box car appears, and then disappears... most movements are undertaken at night, when it's cooler and the traffic quieter as the line crosses several roads in the surburban area... so here is a real surprise, FCEN 56 awaiting permission to return to Toronto (FL), paused, the EMD 567 thrumming on idle. There is something about these boxy rebuilds that I really love, and the Florida sunshine doesn't seem to have faded as much as warmed up the Pinsly red...

Of course, Kinross has temporarily been transported several thousand miles south, and repurposed as the back drop from this scene on the Florida Central... The flexibility on cameo shelf layouts is part of their charm - and I enjoy staging scenes like this as well as operating the simple one turnout shelf layout. If you've got limited space, but would like some help coming up with a prototype and scheme to match what you do have, then I love working with you to develop a workable and believable scheme. Get in touch to see what we can do, in the meantime, more soon...
