The Walthers 933-3114 refinery piping kit isn’t expensive and offers a good selection of pipework, linking pieces and support gantry. What it doesn’t include is any trussing and suggests the pipework itself is supporting the gantry. I drew up some basic flat etched pieced which are designed to span the ‘bridge’ sections and give a better impression with minimal effort. These have become part of the James Hilton Custom Model Railways range on Light Railway Stores, and will be available shortly.

Each pack contains enough for a run of 7 vertical sections, and is etched in brass. Simple in concept and execution, flexible in its application I hope it gives others an easy way to improve their own industrial scenes.
