Friday Update: Fourteen Four Twenty-three...

Well a busy few days at the start of the week and a ‘holiday’ towards the end sees a mix of projects here in today’s regular Friday wrap up…

With the two layout commissions being almost complete I’ve been starting a few smaller jobs that have backed up in the meantime. This N scale cross over is being assembled from the excellent British Finescale kit for a customer, these are so nicely designed it’s a pleasure to work with products with quality manufacture and careful consideration of their assembly.

Bishopsbourne will be off to it’s new home tomorrow,  it it’s been used here to pose the pair of Standard Class 4 models that appeared ‘in the raw’ last Friday. One clean-ish,’one filthy, hopefully my deluxe approach has resulted in a preservation of the soft sheen of the base paint through accumulated wear and grime.

Now the track is down on Lochdubh I’ve enjoyed planning and experimenting with backscenes, it’s currently got a paper print out of distant Black Cuillens from a Skye panorama, muted right back and faded suitably, I think these will work, having tried them at different sizes and positions. More on this seperately soon…

Finally, a glimpse of Fishguard old town and the small harbour - a few days in North Pembrokeshire not quite enough of a rest really, but lovely non the less. I hope you’ve enjoyed your week and have some Railway related plans for the weekend ahead. Until next time, more soon…
