On the go slow…
Today is the third day of very high twenties in the valley, feeling hotter than that. I’m not sleeping, and struggling to focus; rather than sweat another blog post today here is a taste of something new on my mind…
If you can excuse the 03 (it will be 03162 in time) these scenes are mocked up on Gerald Road. To the un-initiated they feature backgrounds from Birkenhead Docks, the last outpost of the humble Class 03 on the mainland… what they show is how my methods for modifying photos to work as a backdrop can transport us there with just some track and a piece of paper printed on my cheap inkjet… transport us, or at least our imaginations. The power of railway modelling for in those moments of transcendence, imagination unleashed and we find calm in the art of the possible. We find ourselves…
I’m enjoying the shade, my note book, a cool drink and some day dreaming of what sort of small but operational cameo might be possible - with the long term aim of modelling a Grainflow PAB. Day dreaming, on the go slow. Happy Sunday! Until next time, more soon…

Stratford 03s were seen in similar fashion on the Silvertown Tramway until the early-1980s, which would just need the sort of backscene you did on Leatown.
ReplyDeleteQuite! We must encourage Kevin to get one in OO!
DeleteJames there is something about the class 03s that I like. As for the weather we do struggle when its hot uk.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Kevin - I was talking about a different Kevin in my comment to Alan above - the owner of Leatown! However, yes, the 03s are very humble but also have almost a steam train outline...
DeleteJames I had a feeling it wasn't me but I still commented as I do like the 03.
