One in one out…
Bleary eyed this morning after collecting the girls from the airport in the middle of the night, bleary tired eyes - this then a literal ‘sight for sore eyes’, a pair of Class 03s on Paxton Road…
One in one out
One out…
03382, a model born of meloncholic nostalgia - memories of Dad’s 03382 from Mainline on the carpet. Created from Farish 03026 with a replacement exhaust (thanks Paul B for turning it) a renumbering and some detail painting under a light weathering.
One in…
03162, still living here in the valley, a survivor, shunting on mainland BR metals until 1989. Birkenhead up the road from where I grew up, dockside trains food for a child like enthusiasm about these sorts of small, characterful locomotives… A NSE Kernow Farish 03 evolved with 026s conical exhaust and a complete repaint.
They sit together on the layout, brothers in many ways, perhaps for the last time.
03382 lives and breathes Gerald Road. She will leave with that, and the vacuum braked stock I kept for it. 03162 isn’t very useful, but was good fun to create. Whether she has a long term future here will depend largely on if Will creates a Minibulk in N… that said, encourage him, if you haven’t by supporting his Kickstarter kit promotion of the Alumina wagons, the latter pair have appeared here in prototype form during their development…
Beyond this scene my coffee beckons and these dogs won’t walk themselves.
I’m glad I stopped by the yard this morning though, these models… genuinely a ‘sight for sore eyes’. Until next time, more soon…
