Down on Beaverbrook: Human interest...

In the last few years one development above all others has elevated the craft, the art of model railways. No, not the latest DCC sound, or fine detail on ever increasingly expensive models, no - it's the humble miniature...

Modelu3D in the UK began scanning real people and 3D printing them 7 years ago, and I've used the miniatures on layouts in all the small scales. The range of North American figures I helped develop last year are perfect for Beaverbrook and help bring little scenes to life. In general the little people will stand on their feet without glue so can be 'posed' for that photo before operations continue. Here we see a collection (three always looks great) together at the nose of this re-worked Intermountain U18B with a stencilled American Line 2 bay cement hopper.

No connection to Modelu other than as happy customer. The figures shown above were supplied by Modelu FOC in return for my help in development sourcing prototype reference photos and then photos of my completed figures were used in the Modelu promotional material.

Until next time, more soon...
