Down on Beaverbrook: Small steps...
I’m enjoying having the baseboard up and stock placed, it’s neat to enjoy the models in a preemptive manner, seeing what might become viewing angles, interacting through figure placement...
However small steps forward are being made. The baseboard is just 9mm ply. It it’s in two sections, these are now glued together and the board is flatter and straighter as a result. I’ve also replaced the lighting lid; this one has 2” greater depth at the centre to throw light onto the side as well as top of locos and stock on the front siding. I’ve painted the underside white and this is also glued together into one piece.Next up will be some backscene boards to fit along the wall and rails so the back scene has a flat surface to stick to, and the LED lighting has arrived. However I will probably fit the front pelmet first, or at least at the same time... once the lid and foundational back scene are in then work can start on the layout proper. I hope you’re enjoying a break this weekend, until next time more soon...
