Friday Update: Sixteen Four Twenty-one...

It’s nice as commissions come to an end, both Taliesin and Paddington’s diesel are nearly there and the Hudson Hunslet pictured earlier this week is nearly there too...

What that of course means is new commissions to start, but before that a massive restocking of kits at Light Railway Stores. I clean and prep every 3D print, checking its quality, rinsing in white spirit and starting the polish and clean up process with an old tooth brush. These are heading off to Bexhill to be packed into kits so plenty of those out of stock items will be soon available again.
Testing and review of the Planet Industrials Kerr, Stuart ‘Victory’ prototype continues, seen here checking the height of the NEM mount using Kadee and height guide. The feedback will be back to the factory this week. We’ve just agreed the box artwork for the Accurascale commission wagon too...
The first of the next round of commissions is a relatively straight forward paint and lining of this kit bashed Oxford Rail model that my customer has created an approximation of an Irish tank. I’ve rebuilt the cab sides and filled and smoothed it extensively, before priming and painting. Custom lining transfers will be next. I’m also about to start design work on the Ruston in 7/8ths as well as another large commission.
I’ll leave this week with a snap on my Kinross layout of the Guildford GP40-2W, it’s fun that these micro layouts can be set up as if they’re other locations this time Prince Edward Island stands in for New England! Both the locomotive and boxcar have seen tweaks to their weathered finish recently, I may well write up about that another time. I hope you have a good weekend, I plan to do a little more work on Beaverbrook preparing for the lighting pelmet. Until next time, more soon...
