The magic of old structures...

Over the holidays I nipped to see my Mum in South Wales, and stopped by Porthgain for a walk along the old narrow gauge tramway...
Every time I visit I always say ‘I’m going to build this...’ but haven’t done yet. I’ve measured up the structures, the weigh bridge would suit the Dyfrdwy Tramway, the Engine Shed would be lovely in 009. Years ago I built a model of Porthgain in 009, the original locomotive... Definitely maybe one day hey... more soon...

  1. One of my favourite areas James. We've walked the tramway several times, along with doing some Seal watching and visiting the The Sloop for refreshments. A fascinating place. I agree, the shed would make a great model and I've pondered about having crack at it myself.

    1. Thanks Pat. Many years ago I did start to do more research with mind to expand the history, but I think all there is to be told has already been done so, and it’s a shame, but no photos survive of other locomotives working the line other than what I’ve found already.

  2. I really need to learn more about this. drawings would be facinating and just a small micro layout would be fantastic to see. the recreation of the sheds would be very interesting to see and would fit well with your model!
