Dyfrdwy Tramway: Logs in the evening…
After the success of earlier log train trials I decided to push my luck and add a van, and switch the most powerful diesel for something lighter footed...The Hudson Hunslet is a lot lighter, and only powered by a 6v motor, but it handled the train without any problems, sure footed in both ascent and descent.
It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed just running trains and although I only had the log train out, I enjoyed its sedate pace through the garden watching it from close by and afar as it gently traversed the lawn to the quarry.
My line isn’t extensive, I hope it shows that a short end to end line can offer real enjoyment in the garden, and I know I’m blessed with the real background scenery, but greenery can offer other options if you’re careful with planning and using what you have to best effect. Enjoy yourselves. More soon...
