New but disgraced at Pont-y-dulais...
The new Ruston 165DE recently delivered for working between the colliery and exchange sidings at Pont-y-dulais lasted just one wet slippery morning...
It's short wheelbase and lack of tractive effort on the greasy rails meant she was sent back to the shed where the crew had kept Bronwen in light steam, almost as if they had foreseen this issue...
Of course this is my OO gauge layout, Pont-y-dulais, with Hornby B2 Peckett lightly modified and repainted paired with a recent commission build, a Planet Industrials Ruston 165DE that runs on a modified Hornby W4 Peckett chassis. I do offer both locomotive and layout building commissions. Get in touch if you're interested in working with me on your own dream project. More soon...
